Good news ... attendants can travel for free if needed for in-flight assistance, and people who need more than one seat due to their size, and where their size has caused a disability, are only allowed to be charged one fare. Hats off to the Council of Canadians with Disabilities for pursuing this case for years to its just conclusion! Council of Canadians with Disabilities Press Release PUSH Northwest Press Release

    Alternative Residence

I am a parent of a 26 year old young man with Down Syndrome and I am actively seeking out two roommates for my son to reside with in an alternative residence that will be run by the parents. He is currently on the individualized funding list and hopefully with that funding and his ODSP, I can afford to set him up in a residence that will provide him with a dignifed, independent situation with supervision.

I am also looking for a property, i.e., a townhouse, bungalow or apartment. If you are interested in further dialogue regarding this search please
contact me at 416-286-0453 (evenings) or 416-396-6665 during the day. Or..at teachme1283@hotmail.com. I have also started a charity (www.pleca.ca) whose mandate is to raise funds to help for workers
to work in an alternative residence and for weekend respite. If you are interested in becoming more actively involved in this charity, please let me know.
