July Session Only – One Week Culinary Lab

In partnership with Humber College we are excited to offer two phenomenal 3 week summer employment readiness programs.  Participants will receive 5 days practical and interactive employment skills workshop facilitated by Christian Horizons experienced Employment Coordinators, 5 days Culinary or Baking Lab Skills taught by a Humber College Instructor in addition to 5 days hands on placement experience.  A great way to explore college and career options!In partnership with Humber College we are excited to offer two phenomenal 3 week summer employment readiness programs.  Participants will receive 5 days practical and interactive employment skills workshop facilitated by Christian Horizons experienced Employment Coordinators, 5 days Culinary or Baking Lab Skills taught by a Humber College Instructor in addition to 5 days hands on placement experience.  A great way to explore college and career options!

Learning Outcomes:

Work place attitudes and ethics, Job Search, Interview and Resume Skills, How to market Yourself and tips to keep your job!Participants will also receive hands on placement experience with personal job coaching feedbackHealth and Safety, Intro to culinary skills(July session only), Intro to baking skills (August session only) in Humber’s state of the art lab.

Requirements:

*Humber College has a no violence/aggression policy so participants must be able to work independently, in a group setting, follow direction and be safe using knives, ovens, fryers etc…

*Must purchase your own safety shoes and wear them each day to participate in the course.

*Must take their own medications independently

*Must be responsible for their own transportation to and from Humber College and placements

*Must provide their own meals, snacks.
